Dr. Bob Wright, Illustration Course Leader was contacted by Dr Liz Conway of Queen Alexandra Hospital with a request to produce some illustration work for the awareness campaign for organ donation. They came and gave a very moving presentation which evidenced the difficulties faced by their department regarding how few organs are available for people in need of transplantation.
Dr Wright said “We invited all of our level 3 students to engage with this short project as part of their professional practice unit, as a live project effectively”. Staff at the hospital decided to give a prize to the students as appreciation of their help to raise awareness. Today, 11th July, there was a presentation and awareness event at the Oasis Center in the grounds of the QA Hospital.

Staff within the Organ Donation Department voted for the following work:

1st place – Molly Johnston (sequence of 3) Butterflies

2nd place – Rachel Govan (singular image) Clock and heart

3rd place – Maya Antonov (sequence of 3) Watercolours organs and flowers
