Congratulations RJ

Hannah Banana Bakery recently got in contact with me through my illustration page - www.facebook.com/freakSTATIC.illustration and I was asked to create a front and back cover for a collection of vegan recipes from top vegan bakers. It is called 'Southcoast Vegan Charity Zine'. 100% of the profits will go to a local charity Oakhaven Hospice.
It will be published and stocked in shops in the UK, Toronto, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, Berlin and Iceland!

Winner! Jade Spranklen

Winner!!!! So happy to have won the 'Most Creative Award' at the Cygnett Design Competition!

Alumni - Leon Caddick

Since graduating (last year)  I've been working hard to get a multimedia studio up and running. I've learnt how to create a decent business plan including projections, and I've been viewing commercial properties. Also, I have been grooming investors and learning from accountants. Hardest thing I've ever done. I've been green lit by the Enterprise Allowance and the studio would function as an extension of what the Uni offers, but open 10 til 10, 7 days a week.
Aside from that, Ben Pinwill (ex illustration student) and I have a Bondgirl exhibition celebrating 50 years of James Bond in January.

I thought I'd send the Two Sisters collage that won the Flo & Stan competition as well. Everyone seems to like that.

Guest Lecturer - Sam Chivers

Thanks to Sam Chivers for giving a lecture about his artwork and that of Magic Torch, the illustration collective he runs with Sam Williams and Mike Chipperfield. All three graduated from our course back in 1997. It was great to have an overview of how Magic Torch was set up and the balance between fabulous commissions and less exciting ones. Sam also discussed the balance between digital work and hands-on illustration and how keeping your own 'personal work' going was necessary and could feed back into commercial work. We were all very impressed with the quality of screenprints!
