Admiral Lord Nelson School

Megan Highland, Livy Nelson, Ella Tomkins, Rachel Douce and Aggie Davies visited the school to run two 2 hour art sessions with a GCSE class. Their first session focused around drawing and collage with the aim to make the children become more free with their techniques and observe in different ways. One of the activities was involving the students to draw a natural object without looking at the page using continuous line and at speed. The children were often surprised how well their drawings turned out and hopefully it has helped them in remembering that not everything they create has to be a finished work of art!
Their next session was a print work shop which involved different mono printing techniques and printing from foam sheets  They experimented with combining different types of print and how to create different marks and textures. The class really enjoyed this lesson and created some really fantastic images.
