Congratulations to Wyman Babbage

Following the live brief that Anglepoise® gave to BA illustration students at the University of Portsmouth to showcase their creative talents they created a series of festive cards inspired by the Type 75 ™ Desk Lamp. The cards by Wyman Babbage completely sold out at the Festive Creative Market at the Hotwalls Studios and two of the designs were then selected by Anglepoise® to become their official Christmas card.Wyman will receive a studio lamp from Anglepoise plus all the money made from his sales and a fee for the use of the images.

Level 4 Workshop - Multi media

Given the choice of a text based image, a monster or 'cops and robbers' as a theme, students set forth to create images using rolled up textured surfaces, collage material and anything else they could get their hands on. We looked at the work of Jonny Hannah, Sara Fanelli and Dominka Wroblewska (www.domeeart.com) for inspiration. They were given little time to mash these materials up and managed to create something quite evocative. Enjoy!

Guest Lecturer: Jonny Hannah

This Friday the wonderful Illustrator, printmaker, artist and more(!), Jonny Hannah gave an inspirational lecture to both the BA and MA Illustration students. He showed a wealth of work, including an extensive overview of Darktown. It was great for the students to see sketchbook work and chat to Jonny afterwards.

Luke Spooner -Carrion House Patreon is LIVE!

The new illustration, paintings and music Patreon page is now live for Carrion House! As mentioned before - with enough support I'm hoping to turn this into a long running view into the behind the scenes workings of being a freelance illustrator so we'll be looking at sketchbooks, self directed paintings, illustrations that will never make it onto social media or be released, questions and answers sessions, free music and all sorts of other good things. I'm also hoping that I'll be able to provide advice for other artists starting out in the freelance world too but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now I'm focused on getting this page off the ground and you may be able to help.
You can watch the patreon introduction video from me here in which I explain my reasons for the page and my hopes for what it should become:
